FTW ("FTW," "Fuel The Win," "Fuel the Work," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and your choices when you use the FTW mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using FTW, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information from connected services, and limited technical information needed to operate FTW.

A. Information You Provide to Us

Depending on how you use FTW, you may provide:

  • Account information — Email address, password, first name, last name, time zone
  • Profile and settings information — Height, weight, birthdate, gender (if provided), measurement preferences (metric/imperial), nutrition preferences and targets, training settings (for example, FTP and related settings), app preferences and onboarding settings
  • Food and nutrition data — Food log entries, nutrition notes and meal-related data, related metadata (dates, times, values)
  • Chat and AI feature data — Messages you send in the app chat/AI features, AI-generated responses, message summaries and related context used to support chat features
  • Planned workout and activity data — Planned workouts you create manually, workout notes and scheduling details
  • Forms and submissions — Information you submit through FTW forms (such as beta signup or contact forms), form metadata such as IP address and browser user agent (for abuse prevention and operations)

B. Information We Receive From Connected Services (If You Connect Them)

If you choose to connect third-party services, FTW may import data from them:

  • Apple Health (if you grant permission) — Examples may include weight, HRV, sleep, steps, calories, and related wellness/training metrics
  • Garmin — Activities, planned workouts, health/wellness data, training load, and related sync data (depending on what you enable)
  • Strava — Activities and related performance data
  • Intervals.icu — Planned workouts, activities, wellness/health metrics, training load, and athlete-related data
  • TrainerRoad — Planned workout data (for example via calendar/iCal integration)

You control whether these integrations are connected, and you can disconnect them in the app.

C. Information Collected Automatically

We collect limited technical and operational information, such as:

  • Authentication tokens (to keep you signed in)
  • App/device-generated usage metadata needed for functionality
  • Timestamps and sync logs
  • Server logs and error logs (for security, reliability, and debugging)
  • Form anti-bot verification results (via Cloudflare Turnstile)

FTW currently stores app auth tokens on-device to maintain your session.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve FTW, including to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Authenticate you and secure access to your data
  • Sync data from connected services you authorize
  • Provide nutrition, training, and planning features
  • Power AI-assisted features (such as food parsing and advice)
  • Send transactional emails (such as account verification emails)
  • Respond to support requests and user inquiries
  • Prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent submissions
  • Monitor, debug, and improve service performance
  • Enforce our Terms and protect the security of FTW

We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI Features and AI Processing

FTW includes AI-powered features (for example, food parsing, logging and nutrition/training advice). When you use those features, we may send relevant content to AI service providers to generate results.

This may include:

  • Food log text and meal descriptions
  • Chat messages
  • Related personal/nutrition/training context needed to produce a useful and personalized answer

We use this information only to provide the AI feature you requested and improve feature reliability and quality. If you do not want this processing, do not use FTW's AI-powered features.

AI providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We recommend reviewing those policies as well. Our system may use services from OpenAI and Anthropic.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

FTW may use third-party services to operate the platform, including:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile (bot/spam prevention for forms)
  • SMTP email provider (transactional emails, such as verification emails)
  • AI providers (for AI-powered features)
  • Connected fitness/health platforms you choose to link (Apple Health, Garmin, Strava, Intervals.icu, TrainerRoad)
  • Nutrition data providers used to support food search/lookup features (for example, food database providers)

We only share data with these providers as needed to provide the relevant feature.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only in the following situations:

  1. With service providers that help us operate FTW (hosting, email, anti-bot, AI, etc.)
  2. With third-party platforms you connect when required to sync or authenticate (for example, OAuth token exchange)
  3. For legal reasons if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process
  4. To protect rights and safety of FTW, users, or others
  5. In a business transfer (for example, merger, acquisition, or asset sale), subject to applicable law

We do not sell your personal information or rent it to advertisers.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide FTW and for legitimate business purposes such as security, legal compliance, and recordkeeping.

Examples:

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • Food, workout, and health/training data is retained to provide historical tracking unless you delete it or request account deletion
  • Chat messages may be retained according to FTW settings and operational retention policies
  • Form submissions may be retained for support, beta intake, and abuse prevention
  • Sync logs and operational logs may be retained for debugging and security

We may delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including technical and organizational safeguards.

Examples include:

  • Password hashing for account passwords
  • Token-based authentication (JWT)
  • Encryption of certain stored integration credentials/tokens
  • Access controls and server-side validation
  • Bot protection on forms

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account or data
  • Disconnect third-party integrations
  • Opt out of certain communications (for example, non-essential emails)

You can also:

  • Update account/profile information in the app (where available)
  • Disconnect integrations (such as Strava, Garmin, etc.) through FTW
  • Contact us at [email protected] for privacy requests

If you request deletion, we may retain limited information as required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

10. Apple Health Data

If you connect Apple Health, FTW accesses only the health data types you authorize.

  • You can manage or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in Apple Health / iOS settings.
  • FTW uses Apple Health data to provide FTW features (for example, training/nutrition insights and tracking).
  • We do not use Apple Health data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

11. Children's Privacy

FTW is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.

12. International Users

If you use FTW outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

By using FTW, you consent to those transfers, subject to applicable law.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice in the app or website.

Your continued use of FTW after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
